Fishing Blogs

You know I wanted to create one good fishing blog, but I soon realized that the subject of fishing was way to broad to cover in just one blog. Not only that each form of fishing differs so much from one another, so I decided to set up a blog for each type of fishing that I enjoy, that I do and that I know something about which should make organizing things a bit easier. Not only that if your not a trout fisherman you really dont have to sit here and read about trout fishing you can go to my walleye fishing blog. What I will do is use this blog as a centralized blog to post updates and what not from each of the other blogs.

Here are the blogs in which I will be posting to in the future;

Bass Fishing
Trout Fishing
Walleye Fishing
Salmon Fishing
Cat Fishing
Carp Fishing

From the looks of things I really have my hands full, but will manage somehow and make sure each fishing blog gets the attention it deserves.

You might be asking why, why so many blogs and why a need to get all this information out on fishing. I will tell you why, I am getting older and its time I start giving back to the sport / past time that I love so much. Take it all in Ill be giving away years worth of fishing information that has been passed down to me from my father, which was passed down to him from his. I come from a long line of anglers and very successful ones at that, most of what I have learned has come from them and I am not interested in selling like allot of these so called pros with their gay fishing secret ebooks! BTW do me a favor, no one has the secret fishing technique that will catch all the fish all the time, so please dont buy these books I just mentioned, your just wasting money.

Everything you need to know about fishing can be found here and on other sites that share freely and through practice and tons of time on the water.

Anyway, until next time, tight lines everyone!

Fishing Reports

I came across a great website today that has literally thousands of updated fishing reports from around the world. I remember seeing this site a few months and thinking it would never take off, but in fact it has and it looks great!

The site reelreports.com offers both the hardcore angler and the blogger/webmaster some very important information and tools. An angler can surf to his location and read up to date fishing reports the blogger / webmaster can grab RSS feeds to place on his or her fishing site. So if you have a blog that is focused on bass fishing Alabama you can place the Rss feed in your sidebar and your blog will be updated automatically with any new fishing reports from Alabama. Check it out heres an example of Alabama fishing reports.

RSS to JavaScript

To get the above you simply go to the feed page for fishing reports in your area copy the url and then get it converted here, click generate and then copy and paste the code to your blog, wherever you want the feeds to show up. There are many ways of going about this, though this is by far the most simplistic way.

Anyway Kudos to the webmaster of reelreports.com for doing a heck of a job and creating a great tool for both anglers and fishing webmasters / bloggers!

Kids And Fishing

Go Bass Fishing made a post not to long ago that really touches base on what fishing is really about. Its a really good post and something all of us should be doing if we have small children in our lives. It doesnt matter how old they are, get them hooked early!
Put your trout fishing trip aside for another day and take them kids out to a pond, river or lake for some pan fishing fun or put em on some catfish, doesnt really matter just get them out there fishing! You will be hit with a feeling like no other watching them kids reel in their fish.

Enough check out the post for yourself on Fishing With The Kids!

A Fishy Mouse

As a die hard angler I find myself constantly buying fishing related odds and ends to jazz up my living and working quarters. My last purchase was this cool little Fire Tiger fishing lure mouse from Bass Pro Shops. Of all the fishing related doodads Ive purchased this is by far my favorite.

This cool little mouse is fully functional and works just as well as the mouse your using right now except that its fashioned into a cool little fish. If you want one youll have to order the

Welcome To My Fishing Blog

Fishing has been one of my favorite pass times for almost 25 years now. In that 25 years I have had the pleasure of fishing for a variety of freshwater game fish, though most of the fishing I do on a regular basis is for bass and trout, with the occasional cat fishing trip thrown into the mix.

I look forward to writing my experiences as a fisherman and also providing some tips and tricks I have learned throughout the years for catching various game fish. I also look forward to participating on the many other fishing blogs floating around out there, there are just so many good ones that one could spend days on end finding and reading them.

Well I am off for now, hopefully you will drop by again when I have made a few posts on my favorite pass time (fishing)!
